Less than a month remains until the start of Rutgers training camp. This top-25 countdown will run infrequently, documenting who's got the most to prove in 2014.

No. 22 — WR Janarion Grant (5-foot-11, 170 pounds)

Why Grant's on the list: The shifty, dreadlocked Grant drew headlines toward the end of spring practice when head coach Kyle Flood said he ran routes originally designed for Mohamed Sanu.

But consistent hands have proven elusive. When Grant arrived a year ago, he admitted to stressing over dropped passes, eventually settling in as an explosive kick returner.

Can Grant be the slot option Rutgers craves? Is he versatile enough to see some snaps on the outside? Training camp will be an indicator.

During training camp, keep an eye on: where Grant lines up most at the line of scrimmage.

With little experience to draw on, Rutgers' staff will likely wade Grant into one spot: the Y receiver, or slot. It'll allow him to master one position and reduce clutter.

2014 outlook: Because of several uncertainties at wide receiver, Grant's production could run either end of the spectrum.

It's safe to assume he'll improve on last year's numbers (three catches, 21 yards) under flexible offensive coordinator Ralph Friedgen.

More from the countdown: No. 21 — Chris Muller
No. 23 — Bryan Leoni
