Less than a month remains until the start of Rutgers training camp. This top-25 countdown will run infrequently, documenting who's got the most to prove in 2014.
No. 21 — RG Chris Muller (6-foot-6, 300 pounds)
Why Muller's on the list: Muller started the last 12 games as a redshirt freshman, but he labored in pass protection.
It didn't help that he played next to four different players and that Rutgers' starters on either side missed a combined nine starts. Holding and unnecessary roughness penalties trailed him.
Still, he's the type of promising road-grader Rutgers covets as it enters the Big Ten. Can Muller showcase a more refined style?
During training camp, keep an eye on: Muller's body composition.
Few players underwent a more noticeable transition through two years than Muller, now one of Rutgers' more athletic linemen. Will Rutgers ask its line to carry more weight during a grueling season?
2014 outlook: A once highly prized recruit, the ceiling is still high for Muller, responsible for little pass protection in high school.
Teammate Keith Lumpkin will likely draw attention for his 6-foot-8 frame, but Muller could develop into an all-league-type lineman.
More from the countdown: No. 20 — Djwany Mera
No. 22 — Janarion Grant
