Former LSU quarterback Hayden Rettig will take an official visit to Rutgers on Tuesday, FOX national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins tweeted Monday.
After sitting low on LSU's depth chart, Rettig — who held a Rutgers offer out of high school — left the school in the spring.
He could fill the void left by Philip Nelson, dismissed from the team after being charged with first-degree assault charges following spring practice.
Hettig, a 6-foot-4, 210-pounder, could give Rutgers the pro-style quarterback it covets. A meeting with head coach Kyle Flood and offensive coordinator Ralph Friedgen should figure into Hettig's itinerary.
