PISCATAWAY — Rutgers will play in the Quick Lane Bowl in Detroit, according to several reports, refuting an earlier story that the Scarlet Knights were invited to the Heart of Dallas Bowl.
Rutgers finished 7-5 in the Big Ten with the league's toughest preseason schedule and knocked off Maryland in the season finale to secure a spot. As it turns out, all 10 conference teams eligible for a bowl game were invited.
The Quick Lane Bowl matches a Big Ten team against one from the Atlantic Coast Conference. Head coach Kyle Flood and team captains will announce their bowl pairing Sunday at 7 p.m.
