Proving it in Piscataway (No. 24 — Nick Arcidiacono)

Less than a month remains until the start of Rutgers training camp. This top-25 countdown will run infrequently, documenting who's got the most to prove in 2014.

No. 24 — TE Nick Arcidiacono (6-foot-5, 230 pounds)

Why Arcidiacono's on the list: Arcidiacono played mostly in run-heavy formations last year, thanks to an ultra-productive first-stringer (Tyler Kroft) and veteran in-line blocker (Paul Carrezola).

Now only Kroft has more playing experience at a young position. Arcidiacono needs to prove a multi-dimensional tight end if he wants coordinator Ralph Friedgen to run more two tight end looks.

A lack of returning snaps at wide receiver could help his cause.

During training camp, keep an eye on: news of Arcidiacono's blocking during run drills.

He didn't shy away from contact during spring practice, and another summer camp could boost his confidence.

2014 outlook: It's hard to imagine a noticeable jump in production from last season (five receptions, 44 yards) with Kroft in front of him.

Still, Arcidiacono could give Rutgers a decent second receiving option at the line of scrimmage for the first time in recent memory.

More from the countdown: No. 23 — Bryan Leoni
No. 25 — Darius Hamilton
