Proving it in Piscataway (No. 12 — Carlton Agudosi)

Less than two weeks remain until the start of Rutgers training camp. This top-25 countdown will run infrequently, documenting who's got the most to prove in 2014.

No. 12 — WR Carlton Agudosi (6-foot-6, 205 pounds)

Why Agudosi's on the list: The physically imposing Agudosi didn't play like it last season, seeing a limited route tree and playing time under former play caller Ron Prince.

The hope internally is he turns it on a sophomore.

Rutgers is looking for someone to emerge opposite leading returner Leonte Carroo, as the "Y" slot position appears OK. Can Agudosi prove a capable weapon aside from certain packages?

During training camp, keep an eye on: how new offensive coordinator Ralph Friedgen evaluates the passing game at media day.


Friedgen was non-committal in an interview with the Big Ten Network on the status at receiver outside of Carroo and Kansas transfer Andrew Turzilli.

2014 outlook: Agudosi's 6-foot-6 frame could be lethal, but he has yet to harness it.


His ceiling this season is likely as Rutgers' third- or fourth-leading receiver.
