Rutgers' Kyle Flood made his first appearance on the Big Ten Network on Thursday night with host Gerry DiNardo.
Here are some highlights of the four-minute interview, taped earlier this spring in Rutgers' Hale Center:
On Flood's coaching influences: "To work for Greg (Schiano) was a huge influence on my career here. He gave me an opportunity to see on a very intimate level the way a major college football program runs."
On joining Penn State and Maryland in the East Division: "There's no doubt it's going to change East Coast football."
On the allure of Big Ten membership: "The thing I'm most excited about in joining the Big Ten is having a streamlined vision of how to get to the national championship. I don't know that we could have said that in the conferences we were in in the past. It's hard to see a four-team format that doesn't include the Big Ten champion as we go forward into this new era of having a college football playoff."
